After you are done with by installation and started the Anki application on the selected device, you need to import the corresponding file (the list of words you received from us by email) into Anki. Here's how:
- Open the Anki program.
- Click on File in the top menu, then on Import.
- Find and select the file with words and translations that you received via email (eg. German A1_ 756 words.csv), click the blue Import box again
If the list of words that you previously received from us is the first list that you enter in Anki, instead of the name of the list of words it will say "Default'.
There is nothing wrong with that. Basically, "Default" is just a temporary name that Anki automatically assigns to new decks that don't have a specific name.

- In the main Anki window, right-click on "Default" and select an option Rename.
- Enter the desired name (eg "German A1") and press Enter.
Start learning:
- In the main Anki window, select the deck (list of cards) you just imported (for example "German A1_ 756 words").
- Click on Study Now (Study now).
- Anki uses a spaced repetition system, which means that the cards will be shown to you again at intervals that depend on how well you have memorized them.
How to study?
When you see the card, try to think of the answer (the translation or meaning of the word) before turning over the card.

If you remember or know what the displayed word means, click on the answer "Show answer“.
After looking at the answer, Anki will ask you how the card memory went:
- Again (again) – If you did not remember the word or it was difficult to remember.
- Hard” (Difficult) – If you remembered the answer but had a hard time, choose this option. The card will be re-rendered sooner than it would for lighter cards.
- Good (good) – If you remembered, but not perfectly.
- Easy (easy) – If you remembered immediately and it was very easy for you.
Based on your assessment, Anki will decide when to show you this card again. If you select "Again", the tab will be shown to you again shortly. If you select "Easy", the card will be shown to you again only after a long time.
Make a plan: It is recommended that you study a few flashcards each day, and as you progress, you will remember more and more. Anki makes sure that your cards are shown again in the right way and at the right time. You can also make new decks for specific categories of words (eg verbs, nouns, adjectives, etc.).
